Anyone on here ever throw or attend a sprinkle? I'm throwing one for my cousin in September and am looking for ettiquite, ideas, etc. I understand it's a lighter version of a shower, but how light are you supposed to go? I'm somewhat clueless. I've also never attended a sprinkle.
Thanks.

we didnt put anything about gifts one way or the other on the invite. everyone brought one, but its not like we weren't going to buy gifts for this baby anyway, sprinkle or no sprinkle.
One of the sprinkles I attend, the mom requested books for the baby. Her second baby was the same sex as the first so I guess she didn't feel as if she "needed" anything.
And then another wanted only diapers.
I went to one where the hosts included recipe cards with the invitations. They requested us to make a dish that could freeze well and then write the recipe on the card to give to the new Mom. The hosts bought her a cute recipe box to put all of the cards in. Some just bought a casserole from the store and wrote: "Call me and I'll drive to XYZ store to pick up dinner!" on the cards. It was a cute idea.
I made the dish and brought it with a small book and pack of diapers.
