make ahead meals and "healing" foods
My mom is having foot surgery next week and will be out of commision for weeks. I am going to visit next week and want to bring some frozen meals with meal. Any good recipes you want to share.
Also, what are some good healing foods to eat while recovering (I guess I could google this.)
Re: make ahead meals and "healing" foods
I would say soups and lasagne. I know it's not really soup weather though, so I'm not sure how that would work.
Also, is there any place like Making Thyme Kitchen in their area that you could get them a gift certificate for? Than your dad could stop and pick up dinner on some days.
I'm not really sure about "healing" foods.
I know this is a repeat but it is durn good (and I'm sure a lot less healthy than the above :-)
OH MY!!! I just looked it up! How did I not come across these before??? I'm intriqued!!! For the non-vegetarian - do you think they'd like it?? We didn't have much luck with homemade sweet potato fries...
Some foods are natural anti-inflammatories; they might be helpful:
bell peppers, broccoli. onion/green onion, garlic, green beans, kale, spinach, sweet potatoes
tart cherries (I like to mix tart cherry concentrate, from meijer, with sparkling water), apples, blueberries, fresh pineapple, kiwi, lemons/limes, tomatoes
cinnamon
cayenne pepper
rosemary
turmeric
