After making myself a robust list of jeans to try based on your recommendations, I find myself wondering if I should stick with the fit I've always worn (somewhere between bootcut and flare - not so flared I look ridiculous, but definitely wide enough that there's no confusion about them being straight) or if I should try something straighter and skinnier. I've avoided those thus far because, despite my being quite tall and mostly leg (I've got a 35"-ish inseam barefoot.), I have thick thighs and hips. Add to that the fact that I've put on enough weight that I'm a size or so larger than I normally am, and I'm not sure if the tighter-pants route is the one to take.
I guess my real question is, when you see someone in straight/skinny jeans and they're (the person, not the pants) not completely, um, willowy, do you think they look okay, or do you just think, oh honey, no?
Re: Another jeans question, this one *completely* shallow.
only think they look bad on non-stick people if the person looks like an ice cream cone (sugar cone). Wide hips and thighs coming to a point at the ankles.
get off your bum and -
no, not exercise; I'm not that big of a hypocrite -
go SHOPPING!!
get out there and see what's what and what you look/feel good in.
Ha ha. I'm a researcher extraordinaire - I bet you've never seen anyone take three weeks to decide to buy a pair of pants. Usually I end up not buying anything because I can't just pull the trigger. I do need to just go try some on though. I often have to order things because not many places carry long enough inseams but I can at least get a feel for how they fit.
Otherwise my unexercised self is going to have to go naked soon. And that's definitely worse than a pair of skinny jeans.
