Ladies who take Prenatal Vitamins
What kind do you take? Do you have to take an anything additional or do they have everything that your doctor recommends in them? I'm looking into them primarily because I really should be taking a vitamin daily and thought I might as well start a prenatal because we plan to start TTC in the next year or so. TIA!

I really wanted to do the Vitafusion ones because they are gummies. But the no iron thing and having to do supplements of iron won't really work for me. I had a run in with severe anemia as a teenager and had to do supplements so I would rather find something all inclusive. Do we know of any gummies that have it all?
What type of iron supplement did you take? Was it Rx or over the counter? I think I'll end up having to do that because of a previous history of anemia.
This. When I was pg before, I got the brand at WalMart that came with DHA supplement and I added in calcium chewies because I hate dairy.
There's really not much of a difference to me.
ETA: My current prescribed prenatal has Iron at 27mg/150% of daily value.. if that helps at all.
I take a prescription prenatal because I need the extra iron (I was slightly anemic in some bloodwork.) But before I got pregnant I took what my MIL (an OB/GYN) recommended for an over the counter brand. One a Day Prenatal with DHA. Also, because of our family history of neural tube defects, I took extra folic acid.
I take them at night right before bed since at times they make me kinda queasy.
Well darn, that's no good! I don't know of any gummies off the top of my head that have iron, but it's not something I've researched. Hopefully there's something out there for you!
Now I just take what the OB prescribes me a long with Nature's Own fish oil.
I mentioned to my PA at my last appointment that we were thinking of TTC at some point before too long, and she gave me a script for a pre-natal vitamin. So, I take that. It's got 1mg of folic acid...
Before that, I took flintstone's chewables. I found many brands of multi-vitamins made me _really_ nauseous, and these ones did not. And they had 400 micrograms of folic acid, which is decent, but obviously not as good as what I'm on now. (I also took another 400 micrograms separately.)
The PA was impressed I knew what folic acid was. Hearing that kinda made me sad.
Oh that's a smart idea! I'll ask my PCP the next time I go in since the lab for that office is right across the street from my office as opposed to driving to the GYN which is far away.
