I just can't get into Pei Wei

I know everyone else seems to love it but I just don't. I've tried something different each time and just can't get into it.

Re: I just can't get into Pei Wei

  • Do you like PF Changs?  I find that Pei Wei is not as good as PF Changs (but probably why the price point is different).  I do like it, but I usually stick with the same few things - Honey Chicken or Mongolian beef or lettuce wraps.
  • I'm sorry (as I sit here and eat my Pei Wei l/o from last night)

I hate PF Changs, but I adore Pei Wei. I either get the Spicy Korean Chicken or Shrimp Pad Thai. So good.

  • I think Pei Wei is fresher and better than PF Changs.  I have always had a horrible experience there plus the food is not as good as PW quality wise and twice the price.  MiL insists on it for her birthdays so we go once a year.

  • I like PF Changs and they are able to do healthier dishes upon request easier than Pei Wei can.

However, nothing beats a nice big a$$ bowl of Dan Dan Noodles.  Have you tried those?  They are sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good.

    Slap yo mama good.

    Lettuce wraps are good.

Wontons with the sauce are delish.

Mongolian beef is yummy too - I like it with brown rice.

I love their brown rice.  It's like zapped with a secret specialness somehow. It always tastes better than when I cook it at home, like it is from a different grain.

Damn now I want some pei wei.  There is NOTHING there that fits in my current diet now. :(

I don't like Pei Wei OR PF Changs. Clearly I am in the minority though!

  • I agree.  I love Changs, but find everything just tastes like a dirty wok coming out of every Pei Wei kitchen I have eaten at, and I have tried a few in a few different cities.  Not nearly as good.
