Eureka!!!!!

We've had someone sleeping on our couch in our tiny apartment since the beginning of May. Now that she's finally leaving (HALLELUJAH!!!!), I'm ready to go "Hoarders" on this place and just start bagging stuff up. But DH is very attached to his computer parts, namely the towers. He thinks they're valuable, I think they're crap. Compromise? I'm using them to create levels on our coffee tables. I'm going to cover them with fabric and put picture frames on them. Yes

Re: Eureka!!!!!

  • I usually just lurk, but I had to comment.

My husband also has a problem with hoarding computer components... particularly towers, cables, and old CRT monitors.  I kept asking what he planned to do with them all, and he usually responded with something along the lines of "fix them up and donate them to a school or something."  After several YEARS of staring at these really old/outdated components we finally had a sit-down.  I got him to agree to figure out what each tower needed to make it operational enough to donate.

Surprise, surprise!  After looking at the needs and capabilities of the towers, he came to the conclusion that they were junk and got rid of them.  4 monitors, 6 towers, 2 laptops, 2 printers, a home theater in a box and a shredder were gone!  Plus it made room for his server rack.  Yes.  I have several servers in my home.  At least they take up less room than the computers.

Your solution is much more creative than mine - good job!
