Anyone Use Damp Rid?

I know Damp Rid is used for moisture control for mold etc...BUT has anyone ever used it to make the temperature of their house cooler? To make air conditioning work better? I heard that recently and was wondering if anyone has used it for that purpose? and does it work? THANKS!

Re: Anyone Use Damp Rid?

  • I've used it, but not for that. I get that it dehumidifies, and an a/c dehumidifies, so if the air is drier the a/c should not have to work as hard. But I think it would take a TON of it to make a difference. Maybe if you're talking about a window unit and just cooling one room it could make a difference. Over a whole house with central a/c? I really doubt it could work.

  • ok, thanks for the input. I have air throughout the house so that might add up to a lot of Damp Rid at $8 a pop...
