Graduation present for RN
I need ideas for items to put in a gift basket for a friend who recently graduated nursing school. Any medical people out there care to offer suggestions? This friend will probably be working nights in the ICU if that makes any difference. Thanks!
Re: Graduation present for RN
I am guessing that you want to get something nursing related. If so, a gift card to a place she shops - online or in person. Regulations are so different that it's hard to suggest an item.
You can also do something to a spa for a foot massage/pedi or something. Or a gift basket for those rough days at work.
I bought scrubs for sister when she graduated. She couldn't use her white nursing school uniform anymore! There are so many other things that nurses use, but it's hard to shop for them until they are on the floor, or might have it from school (stethoscope, scissors, watch, etc.).
Gift cards to places that deliver late night are good ideas too. (Such as Jimmy John's.)
What about making a dontation, in her honor, to an organization that she adores? She likely doesn't have the money to donate herself, just coming out of school, but may love the gesture to help save the ASPCA, local food bank, St. Jude, etc.
If anything, a gift card for nursing shoes.
Lots of facilities don't have white uniforms; wear those home and you're carrying pathogens to your home.
A gold caduceus on a nice gold chain would be a nice gift.
Where I am from, each floor or each department wears a different color.
Yea... White is the uniform for CNA's at the local hospital (their choice not mine). Bleach is their friend.
