Finished The Hunger Games trilogy
Re: Finished The Hunger Games trilogy
I will!
What did you think of the 3rd book? I liked the ending but I kind of felt like there was a lot of that book that just didn't fit. It made sense but it was just too different from the first two for me.
It was a little graphic but I know she was inspired to write parts of her book by seeing tv footage of the war in Iraq, so that makes sense.
I was pretty surprised by who she wound up with in the end. I thought she'd

wind up alone.
I was actually kind of surprised at the twist that Coin had more to do with the overthrow than Snow.
I said it in a prior post, but I feel like the first was SO good, then she just hurried through the last 2.
I think the biggest problem with the third one is that Katniss was told about almost everything that happened, rather than her being part of the action. It slowed the pace down dramatically.

I was more affected by Finnick's death than Prim's. I was so upset for poor Annie, ugh. And I thought it made sense that she ended up with Peeta. They were both so damaged; it never could have worked with anyone else. And I think this way, there was at least *some* hope that they could have a "normal" life, you know? If she'd ended up alone, it may have been even more depressing.
I feel the same way. Through the first 2 books I really wanted her to be with Gale, but I think it makes sense she ended up with Peeta for the same reason you do. I think Mockingjay was the weakest of the 3, but I still enjoyed it and I liked the twist with Coin at the end.
