I'm hoping these vibes work. I know I just asked for my sisters FIL..but this one is for my aunt.
Without going into tremendous detail, my aunt has been in and out of hospitals for years. She lives with my grandmother; and while my grandmother and I don't always get a long, she is too old to deal with this, but the in and out of hospitals of my aunt is taking a serious toll on my mother (it's her sister).
She is back in another hospital; and my mother is seriously concerned for her safety/well being/ and others. We just don't think her living situation w/ my grandmother is the best for anyone at this time, not to mention when my grandmother passes, my mother and father are extremely nervous for that burden of having my aunt live there- her behaviour and hospitalizations are just a lot for someone to handle not to mention are not getting better as each year goes on. But she's a grown adult, so this makes things difficult.
So, if you could just send some positive vibes- stay out of hospital and I hope your mother/father/grandmother/family get through this without having their own mental breakdown...it would be greatly appreciated...
Re: T&Ps needed...again.
IMO, Yes, she absolutely needs to be in some sort of home. She's a little slow to begin with and then to have all these issues on top of it is just a mess. It usually happens in the summer (when my grandfather/her dad) passed, and/or a major life event...it happened when my second nephew was born, and now w/ A.
I think my mother wants to pull the trigger to have her live somewhere else but my grandmother is a force to be reckoned with and a control freak- it wont hsppen- bc then my gm will be alone...
Happy thoughts for you and your family members. ((hugs))
Praying for your family Jackie!
I know it's hard but adults can be committed to an institution. MIL just had to do it with her mom and they finally were able to help her etc and now she only goes as an outpatient. Her son (MIL's brother) is part of the reason she ended up there. So, I know how hard it can be on an entire family. Praying things will work out to better help your aunt and grandmother too!

Sono showed no baby and teeny tiny sac. Waiting to M/C naturally.
This is what I was thinking as well. Usually you have to petition the state, and really it depends on why she goes in every time. It's one thing if it's suicide attempts, another if it's alcohol/drug related, another if it's just depression/anxiety/off her meds type of thing. But it sounds like that may be best for everyone in this situation. Then usually they're committed for 72hrs, which can get extended for a few weeks until her doctors can recommend some sort of permanent living situation. Lots of T&P for your family Jax!
