So her reflux issues are getting worse, she stopped beinng a "happy spitter" about 2 weeks ago.. Now She's screaming at us from the pain about 80% of her awake time. Today she had tears from it. I talked to our dr about it at our last appt so I called to see if they wanted me to bring her in, or if they could just tell us how much Zantac to give. It's a vicious cycle, she cries, spits up, nurses for comfort (if I dont let her nurse she wails uncontrollably to the point she starts choking from screaming so hard), then the over full belly starts the crying to spit up all over again. I feel horrible for her.
Did any of your LO's have reflux that you needed to give meds for? Or any ideas until they decide to give us meds? I ordered one of those special wood necklaces, like the amber ones for teething, but it hasnt arrived yet and I'm not holging much faith in it, just am up for trying anything to get my happy baby back.

Re: Moms... Reflux, ugh.
Everything I've read online says things we're already doing. Shorter more frequent feedings, burp often, keep upright 30minutes after eating...
She spits up more when she's upright, then reclining or lying down. Go figure. But in any position its still painful cries

Very rarely. And even then only when she's tired. And she'll suck on her fist occasionally but that doesnt help for long either.
doc office finally called back and are going to call in a perscription for zantac. Now I just have to wait for it to be filled. I hope it gives her some relief.

I'm not an adventurous eater, because my g.i. tract sucks and is uber sensitive. So, my diet hasn't changed. The only thing that's different in that time frame is I started the mini pill, but my pedi said that shouldn't be the cause.

I'm glad the doctor's office called back and put a prescription in.
Alexander had horrible issues with formula and in hind sight I think he had a reflux issue. I will say since switching Xander to milk all his issues went away.

Yes, Bella had terrible reflux and would scream from it. It was so bad she would cough/gag till it took her breath away and then she would gasp for air and spit up something terrible. She had an upper GI at 6 weeks and was put on zantac until she was 15 months old. For the first 4 months she slept sitting up in her bounce seat because we couldn't lay her down to sleep. Once she started the zantac it was night and day difference, she was a different baby.
One bit of advice is give it to Felicity exactly the way the dr prescribes it, keep her on a precise schedule. We had to give it to Bella 3x a day and if the times varied on doses, because she was napping or we weren't home or for whatever reason, she would could tell a difference in her personality from being in discomfort. So I kept it in the diaper bag so we always had it know matter where we were.
Hope she starts feeling better soon.
