Anyone done a HV Wine Tour?

For a wedding that I'm in this September, I'm helping to plan the bachelorette party (since the MOH is completely useless).  We decided on doing a wine tour in the HV and a google search has only come back with one tour company so far - The Little Wine Bus (http://thelittlewinebus.com/

I know some of you have done wine tours on LI, but anyone done one around the HV?  This company I found does do bachelorette parties and has a package but was looking to see if there were other options besides this one place or if anyone had done something similar to this and had ideas.

TIA!

Re: Anyone done a HV Wine Tour?

  • Jenn,

we did this exact company for a 40th bday. They picked us up in beacon and took us to brotherhood and benmarl...we picked a bad weekend though because it was grape stomping weekend at both and the wineries were packed!

they were nice and we had alot of fun!

  • In Marlboro there is a wine trail...Benmarl Winery is right down the rd from me if u want info...

What about getting a limo(or some type of transportation) to takeyou girls around-The wine tasting is free!  Unless u want to purchase (obviously...)  Awesome idea though!

  • I did one for a wedding I was MOH in. I did the driving (decorated my car) because it was a small and CHEAP group although I recommended a limo... Anyway I went on http://www.hudsonvalleywinecountry.org/ and that helped me design a specialty wine trail just for us. We went first to Brotherhood Winery which I HIGHLY recommend, very knowledgable, we ate lunch there too-EVERYONE loved it!!!, then Applewood Winery (could have skipped it), then finally to Warwick Winery which was AWESOME we enjoyed the music, wine and finished the day with their fresh pastry! Our little trip filled half the day and then we went out to dinner and dancing on the Hudson. It was approx $7 dollars per person for a tasting at each winery and if you really want to fill your day Brotherhood had great tours to offer. The bride and guests like the wine so much at Brotherhood and Warwick that they bough bottles to take home (not from HV) Best of luck!!!
  • Thanks for the recommendations ladies.
