Hallelujah!

*FYI, I'm probably going to be a PW today bc I've got nothing to do at work*

I finally finally finally was able to put some money into my savings account today!  That doesn't seem like that big of a deal but I had to empty it over the last couple of months with unexpected expenses and had really been struggling financial wise, so I was sooo happy this morning when I was able to transfer a little bit of money into my savings.  When I say little, I mean little, like $50 little, but hey at least it's a start.

Have you had any sigh of relief moments lately?  Anything that just puts a little smirk on your face?

  • Woo! 50.00 that's better then nothing! I feel you on that savings act just gathering dust, ours is right now too. but I'm hoping that with us working out and eating more healthy that will be able to save some of that hard earned cash! but i sure do miss going out to dinner and the fast food!

  • Xan that is a huge deal!  Be proud of yourself!

My sigh of relief moment was when I got an e-mail from the treasurer at work.  I asked her how much it would cost me if I switched to the better insurance plan at work and changed to a family plan.  She told me it is only $50 a month!  I still am thinking there is a catch somewhere because I am paying $100 now and I can't imagine switching to this plan if it only cost $50/month.

We'll need around $2K to be able to move into the new apartment we want in December (pet deposit, security deposit, first months rent, etc) so I've only got to bank $50 39 more times before then...eek lol.

Hopefully I'll get hired on soon at my job which would most likely mean a raise so maybe it'll start being easier to save a little bit after that.

That's great if it really is only $50/mo!  Like you, I would be a little curious as to if there is a catch or not because that almost seems too good to be true.  Definitely look into it though because if there isn't a catch, that will be a sweet deal!

Hooray for savings!  Ours has not grown (except for interest) since April when we reached the amount we needed for the house DP and a small e-fund, but we did pay off DH's car loan early so that we have a little bit of time to be debt free before the mortgage kicks in.

Hope you get hired and get that raise soon.  Getting a raise is the best time to save because it is extra money that isn't already in your budget. See if you can set up your paycheck to direct deposit to checking and savings.
