Easy yet tasty dip recipe?

Looking to try something new for a neighborhood party this weekend. My "go to" dips include: Buffalo Chicken, BLT, Baked Potato, 7 layer & Mississippi Sin.

Anyone have a favorite that they care to share.  Hot or cold is fine, this is an outside party and can always tote along the crock pot.  TIA!

Re: Easy yet tasty dip recipe?

  • These are both really good.  The first one is so simple and people love it.

    Beer Dip

    2-8oz packages of cream cheese
1 packet of Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing Mix
1 package (8oz) Shredded Cheddar Cheese
1/2-1 cup beer (I use closer to 1 cup). Darker beers are better than light beers, IMO.

Mix all with electric mixer....chill.... serve with pretzels/crackers/chips

    Jalape?o Popper Dip

2- 8 ounce packages cream cheese, room temp
    1 cup mayonnaise
1 cup shredded Mexican blend cheese
    1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
1- 4 ounce can chopped green chilies
1- 4 ounce can sliced jalape?os- double if you like heat

    1 cup panko bread crumbs
    1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
    1/2 stick butter, melted

In a food processor add the first 6 ingredients and process until smooth. You do not need to drain either can of peppers. Spread the dip into a greased 2 quart casserole. In a bowl mix bread crumbs and the other 1/2 cup of Parmesan cheese. Pour melted butter over top crumb mixture and mix well. Sprinkle crumb mixture evenly over the dip and bake in a 375? oven for about 20 minutes. You want the top to get browned and the dip to be heated through and bubble gently on the edges. Do not over heat this dish or the mayonnaise with separate and you will have a grease puddle in your dip. Serve with crackers, tortilla chips or a sliced French baguette.

  • Easy is the only type of recipe I'll make! :-)

    Cold
Creamy Jalapeno-Cilantro Dip - it's spicy but yummy and different from the usual.

    Hot
    Spinach-Artichoke Dip

  • Um, is it wrong if I make that Jalapeno Popper dip for dinner?!? OMG sounds wonderful!!!!!!!!

     My "easy" dips:

Soften cream cheese in microwave, mix with salsa and voila - creamy salsa.

Blend Sour Cream, Cilantro, Ranch Seasoning and a few pickled jalapenos in the blender for "Creamy Jalapeno"

  • A really easy dip:

Spread cream cheese on a oven safe dish.  Top it with a can of hormel chilli (no beans) then top it with a shredded cheese blend.  Pop it in the oven just to melt the cheese and serve.

    HTH.

  • My fav go-to is spicy sausage dip.

1 pkg jimmy dean hot sausage cooked

    1 can rotel

    1 block cream cheese

Cook sausage through, add rotel (juice and all) simmer 10 mins on medium heat, turn to low add cream cheese to melt. Serve with tortilla chips.

  • My favorite is an onion dip.

    2 T butter

    2 yellow onions, diced

    Salt & Pepper

16oz sour cream (I usually use light)

    Chives or green onion, chopped

In a cast iron skillet, melt the butter and saut? the onions until browned.  Remove from the heat and cool completely, about ? an hour.  Stir in with the sour cream & season with salt & pepper, add in chopped chives or green onion.  Chill before serving.

I love spinach dip - the kind you make with mayo, sour cream, spinach, water chestnuts and Knorr vegetable dip mix.

Mississippi Dip Recipe - Cheese Dip

Ingredients: 2 cups (8 oz) shredded cheddar cheese

1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened

    1 1/2 cups sour cream

    1/2 cup chopped cooked ham

    1/3 cup chopped green chiles

    1/3 cup chopped green onions

    1/8 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1 (1-lb) round loaf French bread

Preparation: In mixing bowl, combine shredded cheese, cream cheese, sour cream, chopped ham, chile peppers, green onions, and Worcestershire sauce; stir until well blended. Set dip aside. Cut a thin slice from top of bread loaf; set slice aside. Using a gentle sawing motion, cut vertically to, but not through, bottom of the loaf, 1/2 inch from the edge, to cut out center of bread. Lift out center of loaf; cut into 1-inch cubes and set aside. Fill hollowed bread loaf with the dip; cover with reserved top slice of bread loaf. Wrap reserved loaf with foil. Bake dip at 350? degrees for 1 hour. Serve with reserved bread cubes, crackers, or potato chips. Makes about 4 cups of dip.

This - it's pretty easy and everyone always loves it.  The recipe is on the Knorr vegetable dip mix, so when i pick it up in the store - I just look on the package/box and pick up the remaining stuff while I am there.

Also - a block of cream cheese with a raspberry chipotle sauce on top is good and very easy, also. (served with wheat thins or a hartier cracker, otherwise it crumbles.)

  • Corn Salsa dip

Corn Salsa Dip 3 cans fiesta corn, drained (I can only find small cans, so I use 6) 1 cup sour cream 1 cup mayo 1 jalapeno, chopped fine Cilantro- to taste (I probably use 2 T. or more) 6 chopped green onions Chili powder (I add Tony?s also for more kick) Cumin (to taste) Mix all ingredients together and chill for several hours or overnight (makes it even better). It makes a lot, but is great leftover too.

I suggest starting with 1/2c mayo 1/2c sour cream and adding more as needed...6 cans makes for a large crowd.

Yum!  This could be a good enchilada filling too.  With a bechamel sauce?  Hmmm...may have to try that!

  • Get a large can of crushed pineapple.  Drain well.

Chop a whole bunch of cilantro.

Chop a large jalapeno (removing seeds).

Stir in jalapeno, and then stir in cilantro to taste.  Soooooooooooo good.

This is one of my favorites...everyone loves it. But for a large crowd I use 4 blocks of cream cheese, 1 large can of rotel (or 2-4 regular cans), and 1 roll of HOT sausage (browned and ground up). While I grounding up the sausage I melt the cream cheese in the microwave. Once it's almost melted I add the rotel, heat more, then add the cooked sausage and heat until totally melted. I don't usually put in a crock pot to keep warm. I usually take hot and leave in a bowl...it usually goes too fast to worry about keeping it hot.
