I'm really not sure what I should do in this situation...what's appropriate.

I am the HR assistant at my company and there's a couple of things I do for new arrivals (aka new babies)...order a personalized baby blanket and distribute a card for everyone to sign (and usually at least $200-300 ends up in a card which is put towards a BRU gift card). Here's my sitch: I got the baby blanket less than a week after I had Stella, but almost a month later still no card. We've been waiting for this before we go and buy a baby monitor. Would it be in really bad taste to ask about the card? Should I text a friend that works there to see if one has been distributed? Or just forget about it and go buy the monitor?

I would not ask about the gift, I would go buy the monitors. You will need plenty of other items eventually that you can use the gift card for if you receive a gift.

I would text the friend. I would word it like you are worried that maybe they sent the card with the blanket and you didn't get it and just want to make sure that if there was a card, it did get lost. IDK, I always get screwed at my work. I have donated for years and then we it became my turn, no shower & no cards (for marriage or baby). I did get a couple cards for my mom's passing, but no cards for the 2 ladies actually in my office or from the same agency in my building. This same agency, different branch had the nerve to ask me to come/give to a wedding shower about a month after my mom passed. Wrong thing to do. LOL. She got a pretty nasty email back telling them exactly how I felt and that I was no longer going to be a wallet for them! LOL I've not heard anything back from them. Ok, sorry that was so long, it just really pisses me off when they don't treat everyone the same way.

I wouldn't ask, I think it is in bad taste. Just get the monitor on your own and hopefully they will eventually get the card, trust me, there will be plenty of stuff you will be able to use it for.

I wouldn't ask for it. Maybe send a thank you note for the blanket and maybe then someone might say "did you receive the card?" Agree w/ everyone else, there will be a ton of things you can use it for down the road.

nothing yet...checking work email late last week and saw an email from my boss to the admins...the card was still in circulation at that point.
