Today is day 10 of L keeping a fever of 103. We have been to the pediatrician a few times, had lab work, chest xray and urine tests. They started him on amoxicillan to see if that would help, but no luck. If he doesn't have fever reducing medication every 3-4 hours then he becomes lethargic and just moans. DH and I feel helpless. What would you do?
Re: Moms
Honestly, I would take him to the ER. Fevers scare the sh*t out of me.
ETA: Didn't mean to scare you. I'm really glad they've already started doing tests, x-rays and stuff, but you need an answer. When James had a fever we couldn't control it turned out to be pneumonia, so it's good that that diagnosis is out of the way.
"My 101 List - Updating asap, I swear!
Madisen- Thanks for looking. I've been avoiding Google like the plague.
We went to Wolfsons ER last week and that is when they diagnosed him with coxsackie. Our pediatrician is positive that he does not/did not have that. I hate to go back, again.
I tried using some contacts through work to get into their clinic sooner, but Wednesday is their first day back in clinic. Boo.
