Hi girls! Thanks for all the kind words on here and fb. We're at the hospital with some free time finally so I thought I'd post about my labor/delivery.
Monday night around 11pm I woke up with some mild contractions. Not painful but definitely uncomfortable. H got home from work around 12:30 and I tried to go back to sleep, which didn't work. We finally started timing them around 1:30am and by 5am they were pretty consistantly longer than 1 minute and between 3-5 minutes apart so we decided it was time to go to the hospital. Long story short, they sent me home Tuesday morning around 9 because although I was having regular contractions I was still only dilated to 3 (which I had been since the previous week). The contractions weren't making me progress so they said to go home and wait for them to get stronger and more consistant. Around noon they were still pretty regular and getting stronger. We decided we were going to wait as long as possible since we were already scheduled to be induced at 6am Wednesday morning. Well by 11pm on Tuesday I was in tears and not able to control the pain with my breathing so we came back to the hospital. I was at 5 and 80% so they admitted me and sent up the "drug doctor" right away. Got the epidural at 2am and FINALLY got some relief and some sleep. Our labor nurse was absolutely amazing and was having me switch positions frequently to help things move along. By 11am I was at 10 and 100%. Baby was face up and not in the best position so they wanted me to wait another hour and they would check me again. I switched positions and almost immediately felt the urge to push so the dr. came back and checked me again and all things were go at that point. I pushed a few times and could feel the head starting to come out. My regular dr. was in the middle of a c-section and couln't make it for 15 more mintes. They had me stop pushing and wait for him so I did some serious deep breathing and mustered up enough control to not push. For the next 20 minutes I worked REALLY hard on not pushing. I was feeling a constant urge to push plus the feeling of baby's head being partly out was pretty intense. They ended up calling one of the partners at my practice to come in. She showed up and took one look down there and got moving very quickly to get dressed. The nurses got everything ready for delivery 2 pushes later Maxwell Lewis was born. 8lb 6oz, lots of dark wavy hair. Breastfeeing has been going pretty well so far. We're still trying to master it but I can't really complain. I don't know how to post pictures on the laptop but there are a few on facebook and I'll try to post some more when we get home.

Aw, great name! Congrats again!
Congrats again...I saw a picture this morning and he is adorable.
Wow I can't believe you held off on pushing I would've been like screw you haha
Be patient with breastfeeding it does get easier. If it all works out it is an amazing bond which has kept me going with pumping twice a day at work and still going strong! But if it doesn't work out do not beat yourself up about it!
