My BFF had her baby Monday night and I finally got to talk to her last night. She went to her regular doc appointment Monday afternoon (she was past her due date) and he noticed something during the stress test and biophysical. He sent her to L&D to be monitored. After an hour of monitoring they came in and told her baby Ayden's heart rate kept dropping everytime she had the slightest contraction. They decided to get the baby out right away because they didn't think he would make it through labor and delivery. Within 45 minutes baby Ayden was born. He was a health 7 lbs 7 oz and 21.25 inches long with a full head of hair. He was doing fine and so was my friend until the blood work came back.
Ayden's bloodwork showed a really low red blood cell count. They then discovered that he had lost 30% of his blood so they rushed him to a bigger hospital in Orlando. By the time he got there he was down to only 50% of his blood. They gave him a transfusion and tried to figure out where his blood went. Long story short and several tests later there was a tear in the placenta and it was slowly draining into my friend and not making it to Ayden.
Ayden is doing ok now. He is still in the hospital and will be for at least a few more days. They wouldn't transfer my friend to the other hospital since she already had her baby, so she hasn't even held him yet and it has been almost 3 days. I can't even imagine. If you would keep my friend, baby Ayden, and their family in your T&Ps. Hopefully she will get to go home soon and actually hold her baby. She was really down last night, but I couldn't get a real feel for how she was doing because she was so stressed and high on pain meds. I so wish I could go down there right now... Sorry this got so long. Thanks for reading.
Update: Mom and baby are together for the first time!

Re: T&P Please Added PIP!
Lot's of T&P's!
I remember how hard it was to wait an hour after my c-section to see Julia, I can't even imagine waiting days!
Jenny McCarthy = Former Playmate and MTV host
Pediatrician = Doctor with extensive experience and education on children.
Bumpies = Don't get me started!
I know who I get my health advice from!
What are you looking at?
That is nuts! T&P to her and baby Ayden for a quick recovery.
Thank God the doctor caught it and get things taken care of.
