How are you feeling now that you've had your gallbladder removed? I hope that you've healed quickly.
When I got mine out I felt so much better! My first doctor thought I had an ulcer and had me on meds for about a year (Nexium) to give relief. I google'd one night when I was having a gallbladder attack and sure enough, I was showing every single sign of one. Within about 2-3 weeks I had it removed. A funny story for you:
When I had mine out, the doctors last name was Hart. When I was coming out of anesthesia he was talking to me and said he had cut a heart shape into my stomach as a play on words with his last name... I was completely fine with it and just like "Oh, ok, lalala". Later on at home (the next day or so?) I was removing the bandages and realized that the bandage was cut into a heart. That was when I remembered the conversation and laughed which caused pain all over my stomach from the insertion points.
Re: Lace&Josh
I'm feeling a lot better. The surgery was no joke regarding recovery. I had to have help getting up for about a week which I wasn't expecting. Having an active kiddo and a tender stomach are a strange mix but I wouldn't change it.
We were all hoping I would stop being so sick once the gallbladder was gone, but that hasn't happened. I'm prepared to just be sick the entire pregnancy.
Lol at the band-aid. I wonder how long it took him to start doing that.
Oh, and thanks for asking.
Oh yea, I forgot that you are a Nanny! It's hard fixing lunch/dinner and playing/taking care of kids after that kind of surgery. I wasn't expecting it to be that painful either. The surgeon told me that it wouldn't compare to my previous c-sections. To be honest, it felt almost as bad if not equal to one.
The incision up near my ribs took the longest to heal because of the abdominal muscles. And then my side incision took forever to heal. Seriously, a long time. I didn't expect that either. The only thing that I've still had problems with is that without the gallbladder some foods make my stomach turn and it's pointless to have even eaten at that point. I was hoping to be someone who could bounce right back and not have any lasting effects. Some days I miss my gallbladder. ha...
I hope you have relief soon from being sick. Are you able to take any medications like Zofran?
I'm actually home for a while so no more nannying (sp?) for me. I have 4 incisions. A big one at the belly button and three smaller ones diagonally along my rib line. I was warned that greasy/spicy foods may still be an issue but at least there will be no more attacks.
I can take Zofran (allergic to the other 3 anti-nausea meds) but unfortunately it doesn't help me.
Oh, reading fail. I thought you meant the child you watched. lol
That really sucks that it's not working.
