Book club bad news/good news

Ladies, bad news, I'm super sorry, but I can't have book club at my house on the 13th.

The good news is that we're going to be driving to Baton Rouge to tell H's parents that we're going to have a baby!!!!!!

I'm sorry to disrupt our plans, but that is the only weekend we can both get away and H really wants to tell his parents in person.  This will be their first grandchild, and I can't wait to tell them!!!

I'd be ok to host on the 20th, but it would be totally ok with me if someone else wants to host on the 13th since we already changed the date once.

Re: Book club bad news/good news

  • Congratulations!!!
  • Congratulations.

I am out for the 20th. I moved some stuff around for the 13th and won't be able to move it back. If I am the only one the 20th doesn't work for, please do not take me into account, I will catch you girls next month! :)

If the 20th doesn't work for others I had this thought: There is a good Starbucks just down the road (maybe .5 a mile?) from Grapevine Mills. What would you guys think of doing The Help first and eating lunch at the AMC and then heading to Starbucks to talk about the book/have coffee?

I am also out for the 20th, and I'm unfortunately not available for the movie on the 13th because I have a mid afternoon commitment.   I could do the discussion at Starbucks, but only if it was before the movie.

I'm open for this too. Either before or after the movie works for me.

  • Congrats Shannon!

I will not be reading the book but I would love to see The Help.  I have work until 11 on the 13th so as long as we start around the normal time of noon than I am fine for whatever.

  • Congratulations - that is so exciting!  I guess we'll let you slide Wink

I'm not a coffee drinker, but I'm up for Movie+Starbucks+Book Chat, in whatever order works for everyone else.  I would prefer to keep it on the 13th though.

  • Shannon that is wonderful news!  Congrats!

I also vote for keeping it on the 13th (sorry Shannon) and am good at any time but would prefer to start around noon like normal and I don't care if we do the movie or the book club first.

  • Congrats Shannon!

I'm out on the 20th, but I'm open for whatever on the 13th.

  • Congrats Shannon!  How did you tell DH?

Thanks guys!  We're super excited, and a little scared!  I didn't do anything cute to tell H, I took a test in the morning before he left for work.

We have come up with tons of fun ways to tell our parents, not sure which we'll actually use.  We're going to see my parents this weekend, then his on the 13th.  This will be the first grandkid for both parents, so I'm so excited to tell them!!!

  • Congrats on your baby news!!!
  • Congrats Shannon! No worries about book club, this is kind of a bigger deal!
  • Congrats Shannon!!  I can do the 13th, but only at the regular noon time, I have plans for later in the day.  So, no The Help movie for me.

    I cannot do the 20th.

  • Congrats Shannon! I am super excited for you
