I just got an invite to a bridal shower for a friend whose wedding is in September. I can't go (though I am going to the wedding) because it's in DC. Normally I would send a gift anyway, but I'm going to be spending a fortune to fly me and DS to DC for the wedding, get a hotel, I'm paying for my sister to come down from NY and stay at the hotel with DS while I go to the wedding, and of course a wedding gift. Can I skip the shower gift on this one, or is that still poor form?
Re: WWMND?
This.
I'm the same exact way - unless it's like, my best friend or a close family member. I think it's OK to skip out on the shower gift.
