San Jose Rock n Roll Half

I finally registered for this race which is October 2nd.  Training has begun, although I'm off to a slow start with little motivation.  I'm pretty sure some of you ladies have run this race before.  What is the course like?  This will be my 3rd 1/2 marathon, but I'm hoping it's an easier course, but that might not be the case!

Anyone else running/planning on running it?

Re: San Jose Rock n Roll Half

  • I ran it last year and loved it. This year, I am not running it but plan to start incorporating running into my workout routine. I would love to do a run GTG or meet up somewhere. I am willing to travel!

How was the course-flat, hilly, rolling hills?  A run GTG or meet up sounds great!  Where do you live?  I'm in the Tri-Valley.

  • I just signed up for it for the first time.  Ran a couple of halfs in Sacramento area, but never in my own backyard.  The course is going to be flat and intertwines through downtown SJ, through some neighborhoods and then ending near SJ State University.  You can print out the course map from their website.  Good luck on your training!  I've just reached 7 miles on my long runs and hope to keep increasing each week.
  • Awesome! Its really well organized and the course is pretty flat. I've run it 2 times and done well both times (in terms of making a PR).

I wish I could run it this year but I decided to not do the half distance while pregnant (as much as it kills me). Next year, I'll be there!
