Another flying-with-an-infant question

I just booked a trip to Denver in September and need to bring our pack&play since we are staying with family. Has anyone ever flown with one? Did you check it at the counter or planeside? Any problems? Just trying to plan ahead....the redic amount of crap - carseat - base - stroller - diapers - we will have to bring is a little overwhelming!

  • Check it at the counter with your luggage. Also, read your car seat instructions because you may be able to use it without the base too.... just an FYI :) The Chicco is that way and it's one less thing for you to haul. Then I would just take your travel system through and check it at the gate.

  • Does your family happen to know anyone that may have one there you can borrow? When we went to PA last year my aunt's boss let us borrow theirs. You may want to check so it's one less thing you need to worry about! :)

  • Ok, that's what I thought. We do have the Chicco TS, but are planning to take the base so that we don't have to strap the seat in manually each time. Think we can check this at the counter too so we don't haul it thru the airport.

    Hmmm...this is also a possibility.

  • When I was traveling for work and tacking on a week long vacation at the end, I took all of the "extra" stuff that I didn't want to carry on the plane and shipped it overnight to my friend's house. I don't know if it would be worth it to you to ship a few things the day before so you don't have to worry about all that extra stuff at the airport?

This may be the best idea yet! I know that United offers overnight baggage service. I will look into their price vs. UPS. Thanks!! (and why does a teeny baby require so much stuff?!!!!)
