Homeowners Insurance

Who is yours through?  Ours went up about $800 this year, and I'm shopping for a new provider before the end of next month.

Re: Homeowners Insurance

  • We have St. John's. I've been happy with them so far, we haven't had any huge increases. Our house was new construction and at the time they were the cheapest. I haven't looked into anyone else since we initially set up insurance.

  • We have USAA.

Have you thought about going through an agent, like Brightway, that can help you shop around for coverage?

  • Call an independent insurance agent & have them shop it for you Yes

  • We have ours through USAA on our main property, but I don't know if they are still writing policies for Fl properties anymore.

They were not in July 2009, but they had affiliations with a company that does write in Florida. We use this company, but I can not think of the name. This company was able to beat Brightways quotes.
  • I just was on the phone w/ usaa.  They are affiliated with I believe, ASI?

We got our plan through an agent originally, and he was great.  He no longer works at that office.....and the owner lady handles everything.  She's a flake.  (I deal with her for business as well.)  I need to find a new rep to shop for me!  haha

  • We went through an agency on Pine Forest Rd, I can't think of the name right now. I'll look it up and let you know.

This is good to hear. We also went through USAA for ASI. They were by far the cheapest.

So ASI is the company that USAA sends its members to for insuracne since they are not writing policies anymore?

Maybe DH and I need to check them out for insurance on our rental property since who ever we have it through now sucks.

Yes, that's who they wrote ours through. USAA still services the policy, though, from what I understood.
