Can i share an Ella funny?

Ella has found a love for rhyming. Usually it is bat, hat - can, man...pretty simple words. Well, a couple weeks ago she walked up to me and said "mucker". I said "I don't think mucker is a word honey." (You know where this is going already don't you?). She says "yes it is, mucker, f*cker). Yup, that happened. I had to hide back my laughter and I said "yes, that does rhyme, but we don't say that word". I couldn't believe it! She was so proud of her 'more complex' rhyme that I hated to tell her she couldn't say it. I will also add, she may hear me say a bad word once in a blue moon, but I NEVER say the F word. How could I get mad at her, she was so proud and so cute!

Re: Can i share an Ella funny?

  • haha!  I would have had trouble not laughing too.  G hasn't said any true swear words (yet), but she does say things occasionally that aren't appropriate (crap, etc).  It is so hard to punish when it is so funny.  I am actually surprised that she hasn't sworn yet. I rarely do, but have let the S word slip when I get hurt. She usually is so quick to pick up on the bad stuff.

I got sent to the principal's office in Kindergarten for that one. Same deal, I was into rhyming and I was talking to some other kids and came out with that instead of "sucker". One of the kids (the troublemaker of our class, actually) knew what it was and told on me. I still remember going around and around with the principal, she trying to get me to admit what I did, me not having any idea what I'd done wrong. My older sister clued me in later. (not to what it meant, just that it was a bad word).
  • Hahaha I can totally see her doing that!  I used to get in trouble for rhyming with my name.  But come on when a kid's name is Sam its going to happen!!!
