I hate the vet.

Seriously, I think I hate it more than any animal in the world. I had to take Murphy in today. He's been losing a lot of weight, very rapdly. In 5 weeks, he's lost about 12lbs. That may seem like a while cat, but Murph is BIG. His body is over 18" long without his head or tail. He went in today and olny weighed 12.3 lbs. I almost cried when I saw the number. The vet took blood, and we'll know by tomorrow if it's his thyroid, liver, kidney, heart, or diabetes. I'm beside myself with dread right now. I almost lost him when he was 8 months, and paid for an expensive surgery to keep him alive, and now I'm afraid of losing him again. We were barely able to swing the vet bill today, (the rent is gonna be so late, but I couldn't care less about that) and I'm afraid the doctor s going to tell me that there's nothing to be done. I lost Mr. P to an overactive thyroid, and I see Murphy looking the same way he did.

If you could spare some furry vibes for the Murphster, I'd appreciate it. And if you could also spare some calming vibes for me, I'd doubly appreciate it :(

  • I'm sorry :-(  That is a ton of weight - my Paolo lost 1 pound and the doctor did blood work to check to see if anything was wrong, so I know how just a little weight to us is a LOT to them. And 12 pounds - wow. I will send vibes that it's something treatable. Good luck to you and him and your pocketbook! I'm still reeling from our $800 (benign) tumor from last week.
