quilters: how do you find out the name of a block pattern?
I am so NOT a quilter but have been thinking of giving it a try. I saw a quilt on The Cottage Home blog that she did for her daughter...it looked like it could be an easy introductory block...but i don't know the name of it. Do you have a place where you can find the block names other than just Google? I'm Googled-out...have come up empty handed for the past week. I'm thinking I just don't know where to look. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

TIA!
Re: quilters: how do you find out the name of a block pattern?
Maybe if you post a link to it someone will recognize the pattern.
Or you could send the blogger an email and ask her.
You just kind of get to know them along the way, although i know there are books with names and instructions all over. and there are LOTS of blocks with multiple official names. I think it would be really hard to google a specific block for a name.
as for the quilt you were looking at, going to the website I assume it is this one. And that block is really just the start of a log cabin. Just a square with a rectangle the length of one side and then a rectangle the length of the next side + the rectangle.
