  • We went through this with ds. We finally put him on meds for about a month or so to get through he worst of it. He would cry for hours. It was terrible. We tried every other trick we could find. Gripe water helped a little. Good luck! This does pass!

DS didn't have colic, but he was always crying between 8 and 10 for a few weeks in the beginning. We thought it was gas initially, but it seemed like he was just fussy at that time of day no matter what. Swaddling him and holding him on his stomach helped soothe him so that he wasn't crying, although we did have to hold him constantly for several hours until he'd sleep. (If you've read or seen The Happiest Baby On The Block, the tips outlined in there really helped us.)

  • Holding helped a lot. My moby wrap was my best friend.

Shannon had a period of several weeks/months when she was a baby where she would fuss/scream/cry each night around 6-8pm; a period that we lovingly referred to as the "bewitching hour" or the "baby arsenic hour." DH thought she was borderline colic, but my understanding is that true colic lasts much longer than that and they're inconsolable. She got past it with lots of cradling/holding and shushing/singing.
