Need advice on writing resignation letter(s)
I'm going to resign my retail sales job on Monday. The part I can't figure out is who the letters should go to.
The general manager of my store is in NYC, but my store where I work is in NJ. My 2 assistant managers are here in NJ. Do I need to write 3 separate letters to all the managers or write 1 letter to my general manager in NY and "cc" the assistant managers I directly report to here in NJ?

I just wrote a resignation letter today with a similar problem. Our executive director is in the main office and I work in a satellite office. I addressed the letter to the executive director and cc'd my local office supervisor.
I would write one letter to the GM in NYC and then cc the 2 assistant managers at the bottom. Then you will send them each a copy of the letter, so three copies of the same letter.

Just write one letter to the General Manager but cc the other managers and also the company CEO. be sure to let them know in no uncertain terms why you resigned and state all of the reasons you told us.

To the OP - do you have an actual on-site manager? If so, I'd give them the letter and let them CC anyone else who may need it. Retail is a more casual scenario than a corporate job with a set HR department, so they may not even require an official letter of resignation. Good luck on your next opportunity.
