Interview Me ?

Sorry ladies!  Thanks for nominating me Michelle :)  I haven't been around much and work has been crazy so I haven't been able to Nest from my phone.  So if anyone is around and would like to interview me go for it!  Or if you post questions tomorrow, I can answer them after work tomorrow.

How do you get your hair to look so awesome all the time?  I switch to Wen and I swear by it now, but honestly it does not look awesome all the time lol, I have my fair share of bad hair days and I have to style my hair because it won't just dry nicely on its own so I have to blow dry it whether I'm wearing it straight or curly I've just figured out a system, when I do it straight I blow dry it in sections and then use a CHI straightener on it with Redken Iron Silk spray and then I add one drop of the Wen fig oil to give it some shine.  When I do it curly I scrunch it with Curly Sexy Hair mousse and use the diffuser and again add one drop of the Wen fig oil for shine.

What's the hardest part about being a mom of a 5 month old right now?  Teething, him not STTN anymore, not having any time to myself, he can only entertain himself for about 10 minutes before he wants attention again,(which is why it's taking me forever to respond to these questions! lol)  BUT it's amazing to see how much he's learning.  He can sit up by himself for several seconds before falling over and he's started to switch objects from hand to hand for example.

What's something cool I should buy for Kyler this weekend? Alex LOVES his bright starts elephant: 10 bucks at Walmart image

Do you want more kids? We're going to have one more as planned, although I keep telling Joel that I'm good with just Alex :)

Can you wear your pre-pregnancy jeans/pants yet?  I can wear some of my pre-pregnancy jeans/pants but not my skinny ones yet.  I have no time to work out, it's stupid and I definitely need to.

What's your favorite dessert? Red Velvet anything with buttercream frosting, cupcakes...cake...delicious.  I also love eclaires and cream puffs.

What are three things you're excited to get for your new house?  I was super excited about the light fixture we bought for the dinning room.  I was dying to buy it for a month before Joel finally said to go ahead and get it :)  Also the carpet was a big one I was excited for.  Now I can't wait to buy a vanity for the bathroom, a desk for myself and a new bathtub/surround.

How big of an octopus are we talking?  If it's just a little tiny bebe one that fits around the top of a chopstick, then yes, I might....as long as throwing up after doesn't void the deal because I might definitely throw up.  If it's a big guy, forget it.

  • -Is there any crafty hobby you'd like to learn (sewing, knitting, etc)? -Do you believe in aliens? Ghosts? -Favorite comfort food? -What's something new Alex is doing?
  • imagemz_zane:
-Is there any crafty hobby you'd like to learn (sewing, knitting, etc)?I'd like to learn to how to use my sewing machine.  My brother and sister in law bought me an awesome one for Christmas and I can't even figure out how to thread the darn thing and I haven't had time to sit and really try to figure it out...I really need to do that...

-Do you believe in aliens? Ghosts? Ghosts, yes...mostly because I feel like if I say no they'll try to prove me wrong lol.  Also, I've had a few experience that are enough to freak me out and make me consider that they're a definite possibility.  As far as aliens go, it just seems like it'd be a terrible waste of space if there aren't any.

-Favorite comfort food?  Mac and cheese!!  Especially Anne's White Cheddar mac n cheese from the box

-What's something new Alex is doing? He's switching objects from hand to hand now and "talking" more.  It's so much fun to watch him learning and discovering new things daily :)

What color are your nails?  French manicure.  Actually went to get one done for only the second time in my life.  Toes? Blue, my sister did them.

What is your favorite outfit right now? Sadly, I do not have one.  I feel gross in all my clothes right now I need to work out.

Fave thing about Joel?  His compliments and his support.

Worst thing about Joel?  His worst is also my worst, we both have a hard time admitting we're wrong and this leads to a lot of never ending pointless "discussions" lol.

How are the tenants?  So far so good.  No issues, but this is still the "honeymoon" period and all...so we'll see.

Any new pics of your light fixture? Not the best picture but here is one: image

What is the next big step for your family? I guess it will be baby number two, but that's going to be another year before we start trying.  Otherwise I'm hoping to just settle in and not have any crazy big chances for a while.  We need some time to adjust to everything still.

Big career goal? I honestly don't know right now.  I'd like to really get my photography/design going but I have no time right now and we're not in a place where I could just quit my day job and do that full time.

Do you enjoy being back to work? Honestly, no.  I wish I could be home with Alex.  My job is time consuming and stressful and I'm so exhausted when I get home, I spend all evening with Alex and go to bed whenever he does.  I have no social life right and Joel and I barely have any time just the two of us.  I'm hoping this will change once we're settled in to this house because then our free time won't be spent unpacking and painting and what not, we'll actually be able to relax a little.

What do you like to wear when you have a date night (remember those?! lol) with Joel? Date night? What's that?! lol.  No seriously...we haven't had one since Alex was born.  We should really start that though.  It's  hard with me breastfeeding though because I just barely  make and pump enough during the day to cover for the next day so that'd mean I'd need to pump that evening to make up for whatever Alex would consume while we're out which is difficult.  Excuses excuses I know...but it'll be easier once I'm done BFing.

Would you do anything differently if you decide to have a second child? Honestly, no.  The things that didn't go the way I wanted them to with the end of pregnancy and the birth of Alex were all things that were completely out of my control.  I hope next time I'm able to have a natural vagina birth, but it's not up to me really.

ETA:  I would have started sleep training earlier had I read the book The No Cry Sleep Solution earlier because then maybe he'd be on a regular schedule now and not keeping me up all night...then again it's likely it wouldn't have made a difference at all.
