Reccs near Fenway?

I was just gifted tickets to the Red Sox/Yankees game on 08/30! Hella excited about seeing at game there. Can anyone reccommend somewhere to stay thats close to the Park? And something to do afterwards? We are driving up on Monday and leaving Weds morning. Thanks in advance for any help!

Re: Reccs near Fenway?

  • Higher end:  Hotel Commonwealth, walking distance.

More reasonable:  Holiday Inn or Marriott in Coolidge Corner/Brookline.  Both are on the T about 5 - 10 minutes away.

Tons in the area after the game in terms of bars and restaurants.

  • First... don't were a Yankees cap... : )

We recently grabbed a burger at Tasty Burger in the Fenway area. It was... well tasty! (And cheap for Boston prices.)

Island Creek Oyster is supposed to be great for seafood, but on a game day... yikes, might be tough to get in.

It's also really easy to shoot into Copley Square area where there are some nice hotel. A quick search on-line and it looks like the hotels in the Fenway area know it's a game night... prices seem a bit steep.

There are a lot of really nice hotels in the $250 price range.

The Holiday Inn, Beacon Hill looks like it is pricing up around 190... It's a nice neighborhood, fairly easy to get to by the "T" Would allow you to travel over to the North End or Faniuel Hall after the game.

Good luck with your visit! Go Sox!!! Wink  (actually, I don't care at all about baseball, whatever team you are routing for is just fine by me!)

Unless you don't mind getting beer dumped on you/peanuts thrown at you. (And I'm only kind of kidding. My husband's friend is a Yankees fan, and he's had peanuts thrown at him when it's not a Yankees-Sox game.)

I'd definitely try to stay in the Copley/Back Bay area.  It's close enough to walk to Fenway (if you're walkers), but you can get there by T, too.  The "standard" pregame places over there are Boston Beerworks,Game On, and the Cask & Flagon, but know that they are going to be crow.ded. on game day.  Get there early, and expect lines if you want to go to one of them. There's also the Baseball Tavern further up on Boylston Street, but it's kind of a dump IMO.  For a slightly more upscale restaurant, there's Burton's, also on Boylston and a quick walk from the park.

    Have fun!
