Who knows how to build a website or knows someone who does?

I'm looking for someone who can maybe help me.  I could pay a service to do it but I want to learn to do it on my own or pay cheap for someone else to do it, lol

  • What do you consider cheap? Google logo design guru. You basically post what you are looking for andnhow much you are willing to pay and people submit their work for consideration. They do logos, stationery, websites, etc. It seems like the cheapest people were doing websites for was $250, but they were really great websites. You can build something on go daddy, but I was notarially happy with their options.

  • I would consider $250 cheap.  I asked a friend of mine that does search engine optimization stuff what it would cost because she's around it and knows - she said $500 for a good one or I could go to jigsy and have it done but then you are confined to their templates.

I just want a cool website with more functionality.  I want to add a blog, make it more searchable, customizable etc.

  • We used http://drupal.org/ at the Bible translation nonprofit org I worked for. It's free and pretty simple to learn (to me anyway). They had a lot of customizations and options back when we were using it, and that was 3 years ago. I'm sure they have more now. Here's the website: http://www.theseedcompany.org/.

  • Ash, MH has done this stuff also. Want me to ask him if he would do it and if so how much?
Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • E does this too, but he charges anywhere from $500 for a simple single page to $10K for the more ornate stuff.  Or something like that.  It's pricey.

Yes. I probably can't afford him yet but I'd like to get an idea.

  • He said for a couple hundred he could review your site & give you some pointers... and that blogs are easy.  I'm going to PM you his email addy so you can chat directly and not play "telephone" through me.

  • Also check out Etsy.  They have tons of listings for custom blog designs and websites.  If you are doing a blog, you could spend less than $100 on etsy.
