Recommend an OB/GYN

Please recommend your OB/GYN if you were happy with your labor experience.  We are thinking about TTC sometime in the near future and my current doctor isn't an OB.  I'm looking for one in Baltimore/ Carroll/ Howard County.  Also, what are the best hospitals in those areas?  I would prefer a place that gives you a private room and is more modernized.  Lastly, any advice on books or websites to check out is much appreciated!  Thanks!

Re: Recommend an OB/GYN

  • I go to Capital Women's Care in Maple Lawn (Howard County). I delivered at Howard County General Hospital and had a great experience. They do have private rooms.

Ditto, except the office was in Clarksville when I was pregnant.

  • I use this practice but the one out of GBMC.  No kids yet...but have had several friends and both my SILs deliever through them at GBMC and had great experiences.  GBMC is clean and has private rooms.

  • When I lived in Carroll County I saw Dr. Michael Barnett who I totally adored.  He's in the Billingslea Building which is connected to the hospital.  I can't speak much for the L&D services since I never used them, but I will be honest and say I've heard mixed reviews.

I currently go to JH Community Physicians OB/GYN and mainly see Dr. Rojas and Dr. Kwong.  There are 4 docs in the practice now and they're adding another in ia month and then another one in like October/November.  The only downside is you do have to wait a while at appointments, but their staff there is awesome and I've been really happy with the care I've received so far.

I'll be delivering at HCGH.  I know there are quite a few ladies on here who have delivered there and based on what I've read on here and from friends the L&D side is great but the recovery unit leaves a lot to be desired.  Like pp said, the rooms here are private.

As far as books, I'd recommend picking up a copy of Taking Charge of Your Fertility and checking out fertilityfriend.com

    Good luck!

Third.  FWIW, the new office is really close to the old one even though it's technically Fulton.

  • That was really helpful to me.  I moved to Laurel over a year ago and just go back to VA whenever I need to go to the OB/GYN.
