Freezer meals...

I feel like recently we've talked about this a lot. Someone posted on the Oct 2011 bump board about freezer meal ideas and another person shared this link. Looks so cool and easy! I might consider...

Re: Freezer meals...

  • I've never considered freezing ingredients for the slow-cooker, rather than the actual meal. That's brilliant!

I know, right? and it looks like they make a lot...so you could have stuff prepped for a few weeks after just a couple of hours of prep. I might give this a shot...Or, I might consider just doubling crock pot recipes when I make them and freezing half the ingredients for next time.

  • This is kind of what the OAMC thing I did is.  Not all the meals were cooked through before freezing.  I'd actually say about 3/4 of them were prepared like this and then frozen.  Some could be cooked in the crock pot, some baked in the oven, or some just warmed on stove top.  I'll definitely book mark this link for when we have #2!

I buy our meat in bulk and add whatever marinade I want to the freezer bags before freezing when I split the meat out into smaller portions and then freeze.  It is super quick and easy and all you have to worry about are sides.

  • I've totally gotta try this! Looks like I'm going to be coaching 4 nights a week so I'll need some easy dinners that Jonathan can just toss in the oven or slow cooker!
  • Definitely a good idea!

  • This is awesome. This looks like a space saver too. Just take the bag out, put it in the crockpot, turn it on and by the time I get home from work, dinner is done!

    Brilliant!
