Facebook question - rejecting friend requests

Can you no longer "reject" friend requests? I tend to ignore friend requests for a while, and I just realized I've got 4 of them piled up. Some of them are people I have no interest in friending - but the choices are apparently only "Accept" and "not Now".

WTF is that? I don't want to hide the request - I want it to go away. If I hit not now, what happens? Is it the same as rejecting it?

Why must they constantly change things like this?

I've noticed that too. I don't think you can actually deny them anymore. They just pile up.

Yeah you can't deny the request anymore which I think is dumb. I think part of that may be so that people can't send you a request over and over? Like if I send you a request, and you denied it/rejected it under the old way, the next day I could have sent you another request. But this way, because the request is still pending, I can't re-send I don't think.

I had a request hanging around so I tried. I clicked not now and it had a place where I could click to hide the request. I can no longer see it, but if I find that person instead of the option of sending a friend request, I have the option to respond to the request.

I also think if you say Not now..... the person can still see things from you but can't post on your board. It's weird. I have a couple of people that didn't accept my friend request but I see when they post new pictures and status updates but I can't view their wall and pictures.

wait, really? OK, wtf. That's really really annoying.

I'm getting closer and closer to swearing off FB entirely.

Yea it totally defeats security... I can see they haven't accepted my friend request because when I click on their profile, I still see waiting for Friend Request. It's weird.

You can always add them as a friend, then immediately go in and delete them. It still lets you delete friends as I did a little FB cleaning last night. Now when I go to their page it gives me the option to send a friend request again.

I think that only happens for people who have an open profile, and anyone could read their wall regardless. If you don't have your wall viewable to the general public, you should be okay.

I think that only happens for people who have an open profile, and anyone could read their wall regardless. If you don't have your wall viewable to the general public, you should be okay.

Nope.... I have one friend request where she has her wall and pictures blocked(if I go to her profile) except when she first posts them and they come across my News Feed. It's super weird.

once you click not now, there is another option like "I don't know this person"
