Movies you 'should have seen' but haven't
I feel like certain movies get referenced a lot in our culture, whether it be during normal conversations, on TV shows or on the radio. I was listening to the radio while driving to work this morning and they brought up "Breakfast at Tiffanys" and "Sixteen Candles" and I realized I've never seen either. I've also never seen "The Green Mile." These are all movies that I feel like I should have seen at some point in my life but just never did.
So what are your movies that you missed/skipped out on that you feel like you should have seen at one time or another?

You've got to see Sixteen candles!
I have never seen Casablanca or Gone with the Wind
I looked up the 100 greatest movies of all time. After looking it over I saw less than 15 of them. Here is the link for those interested:

Wow, I've actually seen 23 on that list; which I feel is pretty good since DH and BIL constantly pick on my lack of movie background...
Up until I started dating DH I had never seen Back to the Future, Indiana Jones, Ghostbusters, Jaws and James Bond. I'm sure there are others they would pick up on and harass me...I've since seen Back the The Future and Indiana Jones (though not all of either). I've also never seen 16 Candles or Pretty in Pink.
I've found (slightly embarrassed to admit this) if it's a cinematically relevant movie there's at least a 50% chance I won't like it. Apocolypse Now and Saving Private Ryan? Hated them. The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly? Fell asleep.
I *did* like Gone With the Wind, Schindler's List, and a few others...
I need to see a few more of the Brat Pack movies and some classics like Casablanca and Citizen Kane; DH has a stack of DVD's he thinks are "essential to my education" that I must see to understand pop culture. But soooo many of them are ones I have NO interest in seeing! LOL.
LOL that made me laugh.
I've never seen any of the movies you named so I'm sure I need to be more 'educated' too lol
I think there are generational issues to consider. I'm 34 and have never seen any of the Rocky movies, which is a real shocker to some people. I, in turn, am a little shocked when I meet someone 30 years old or older who has never seen The Princess Bride, The Goonies, or any of the Star Wars, Back to the Future, or Indiana Jones movies. It doesn't phase me so much if a teenager or someone in their 20s hasn't seen those movies, though. Also, there seem to have been a LOT more movies released in the last 15-ish years, so it's bound to happen that people won't see all of them. I've never seen Schindler's List, which is one I feel I should get around to seeing someday.
Regarding classics and old musicals, I love them, but I know that that's not everybody's "thing."
