We never did a weekend plans post, did we? So, how was your weekend? What did you do?
Friday: I got caught in an awful rainstorm while walking home from physical therapy. It was just drizzling when I left and by the time I got home (a whopping 8 blocks,) I was soaked. Water was just sluicing off of me. I literally had to wring out my clothes in the tub when I got home. My sneakers are still wet on Sunday night. As I was changing into dry clothes I took out nice cozy sweats and a soft tee shirt. Little P was sitting on the bed and commented, "Gee, Mama, those are some big underpants." MrP escorted him out of the room before I hacked him up into tiny pieces in a hormone fueled rage.
Saturday: We went to a birthday party for a 3 year at Alley Pond Environmental Center. It actually was really nice. They took out animals for the kids to touch and learn about. The kids went on a nature walk and they did nature inspired crafts, too. It was really nice. Then we drove up to a friend's parent's house in Monroe and she threw a huge pool party/bbq for our group of mom friends. We spent hours in the pool and had a rocking bbq. The kids were wiped out but we couldn't get them out of the water. We got home around ten. It was just a non-stop day of exhaustion and fun.
Sunday: We did nothing. MrP and I were so beat from Saturday that we just entertained LittleP in the house and had a pajama day.
Re: Weekend Plans (Retroactive) *or* How was your Weekend?
Pokey, sounds like a great weekend.
Fri: I got back from visiting my friends in CT. As I was coming home, I stopped in to say hi to a friend at work who does makeup. While I was there, she did my makeup for my anniversary dinner with H. (Five years, can you believe it?!?) Came home, changed, and then headed out to the surprise location. On our way, we got caught in the rain and I was nearly soaked. Just a friendly reminder of the near-tornado rainstorm we had on our wedding day. We dined at Aquagrill in Soho where we had a looooovely multi-course meal of oysters, seafood, and some killer sorbet.
Sat: H and I lounged around allll day. IIRC, I didn't get out of my jammies. He had worked a 70-hr week with his new job (did I mention this?) and I had been wiped out from being with the kids all week, so it was well-deserved. Ordered some more sushi and watched the tube.
Sun: Brunch with some friends, a pint at a local bar, and a walk around the neighborhood. We were going to go see Captain America but it was annoying that H and I weren't going to get to sit next to each other or sit in the front row. Maybe it's a sign that I'm getting old, but that was a no-go for me. Especially when I'm paying $25 to see a movie. We'll wait until we can use our AAA passes to see it. Soooo, we went for a motorcycle ride instead. Perfect weather for it. Went to one of our fave restaurants in the old 'hood. Came home and watched the first episode of Sons of Anarchy. I think this might become a 315 favorite.
Sounds like you guys had a nice weekend!
Sorry about the underwear comment, Pokey. If it makes you feel any better, DH just said something to me the other day about my underwear being big...he almost got throat punched. lol He quickly corrected himself.
What new job did the hubby get, 315? Is it in a new line of work completely? Congrats to him!! Happy Anniversary!! I can't believe it's 5 years alreay...I remember when you were planning your wedding...time flies!
Nothing too exciting happened this weekend. Went to my 'rents house both Fri and Sat to swim with the bambina and yesterday we went to SIL's for a BBQ.
Happy Monday!!
Happy Monday ladies! And Amy, happy anniversary!!
On Saturday, we met with a real estate agent to sign the paperwork to sell our apartment (he's coming by today to take pictures, ack!). Sasha went to the beach with my parents in the meantime. Saturday evening, DH went out to play handball, while Sasha and I stayed at home, very near the AC and hung out. Then we had chinese for dinner.
Sunday morning, we went to the NY Aquarium (love that place!). After Sasha's nap, we headed to the ILs for my FIL's birthday dinner. It was loud and lots of food, but really fun!
Bubblegum Explosion
Thanks. H is working for the same employer, different department. So far he likes it a lot and it definitely has more opportunity for him professionally. Right now he's just training; he'll start officially in Sept. More details coming in the next few months on FB.
LOL, Pokey your post seriously made me crack up.
We had a really nice weekend, too...
Friday night I also got caught in that rainstorm, going to dance rehearsal. I had just parked my car when it started with the torrential downpours. I waiting in my car for a while because i was scared I'd drown if I got out, but it didn't let up for 10 minutes so I ran for it. Thankfully it was done by the time I got out of rehearsal.
Saturday, I taught my morning yoga class, and then DH and I did errand after errand....we went to Toys R Us to get G a baby pool. We only waited so long because we were having our backyard landscaped so we couldn't really use it until now, and because my parents have a real pool she's been going in, so she didn't need a baby one. Apparently, it's NOT a good idea to wait until the end of July to buy a baby pool - they are all sold out! We wanted to get a nice blow up one with a shade cover, and we ended up with a $8 plastic one with "Cars" on it. So, my little princess now has a boy pool :-) It will work for the rest of the summer, and next year we will be sure to get a good one right away!
Then we went to Michaels and I went crazy buying tons of stuff for all the crafts I am making for G's birthday party (Sesame Street themed, I'm literally going crazy with it).
Sunday we had friends come over for a bbq and baby pool time. Except their baby napped while G was in the pool (he's much younger, only 3 months) so it wasn't much of a play date as we had planned! But it was a lot of fun, and G was pooped - she slept until 7am this morning!
Happy Monday all!
Friday: DH met up with me and my 'boss' (i'm an intern) and we had dinner at Eataly. Then DH and i went to Barnes and Noble to get a gift card for our friend's daughter's 2yr bday party on Saturday and ran in to a theatre friend. As we were talking i noticed that it was *pouring* outside! So we went upstairs to the Starbucks cafe and got a drink and sat and talked. (even though i'm not this theatre friend's biggest fan...) Then we made it home.
Saturday: DH went to our friend's daughter's bday party in NJ while i spent the day at ABT helping out with the oral exams that teacher's were taking. Then i met with a friend that i hadn't seen in months for 'brunch'. Then i met DH and some friends to see Captain America. It was okay...
Sunday/yesterday: I slept till 11am! I haven't done that in years! DH was gone for his 10:30am softball game. But then he called to make brunch plans and he and our friends came to pick me up and we headed up to Bklyn Heights/Carrol Gardens. Had brunch then hung out at our friend's place watching the Red Sox game. Once home, we watched HP and the Order of the Phoenix.
It was a pretty good weekend!!

wow! my weekend sounds like a snooze compared to everybody else's!
friday: stayed in and made soul food for dinner--honey fried chicken and collard greens. DH and i watched a netflix movie ("brooklyn's finest").
saturday: spinning class in the morning, and then DH had a gig in the evening, so i had a girlfriend over to snack and drink wine. she just got back from europe, and brought all sorts of fancy food and champagne over to share.
sunday: didn't even leave the house. ordered thai takeout for dinner and caught up with my mom on the phone.
i'm pretty proud of myself today, though...i've already ridden my bike to the gym, went to spinning, stopped at the pharmacy, picked up potting soil, and done a load of laundry. gotta capitalize on the energy when i've got it!

Happy Monday everyone!
My weekend was shockingly low key for us, though the heat is to blame for that.
Friday - Friday is always pizza and movie night. Except for, we had the pizza and I fell asleep in the middle of the movie- DH was great, tended to Avery to let me rest. Woke up in the middle of the night and took over.
Saturday - Went to look at houses. Im getting tired of it, and dont plan on doing this every freaking weekend. I want to take some time off from it actually. When we got back to Brooklyn, we went to Williamsburg to eat at the restaurant our best friend owns. Avery was awesome, slept the whole time and it was fun
Sunday - Literally, I cleaned the house from top to bottom. Laundry, mopping, vaccuming, scrubbed walls -heavy duty cleaning. Love it. Tended to baby in between. Made lobster ravioli and a quick vodka sauce for dinner, and promptly crashed..lol
Congrats 315 on your anniversary.
On Friday I went to Michaels to try to figure out how to hang up DDs name letters.
Saturday, I cleaned and touch up painted.
Sunday, we went to the Junta Hispana festival in Flushing Meadows Park. It was nice to get out, because it's been so hot that I haven't been taking her out during the afternoon. DH saw a friend in the VIP tent who gave us tickets for it. Then DH wanted to go home, but I refused to get out of the car if he did. It's so rare that I get out of the house to do something fun and it was a nice day. So, we walked around Fort Totten and saw the pool which we're going back to this week to the kiddie one for DD. Then I still refused to go home. lol. So, we went to eat something in BAy Terrace.
Friday DH came home late so we just had sushi at home and hung out on the couch.
Saturday we celebrated our anniversary (it is today). We "slept" in hung out, just took the time to enjoy each other since DH has been working so much lately and we haven't had as much "us" time due to some other things. Then we went to the Met to check out the street vendors. There is a painting over there that I have had my eye on for a while, and of course when we actually go, with cash, and intention to buy, it WASN'T THERE! So we just walked around a bit and then in the evening we went out to a fancy dinner which DH planned as a surprise for us. It was a good day
Sunday DH was working, but we managed to get out and see Harry Potter finally! We have seen all the Harry Potter movies together since we have been together so that was fun.
Since tonight is our anniversary I am hoping DH will come home early enough for us to go out to (a low key) dinner again and so we can enjoy the evening together.
