I guess that's a good thing

Went to get my hair cut this weekend and the stylist guessed that I was 24. I'm 31 so I guess that's a compliment? I always get defensive though, not sure why.

Re: I guess that's a good thing

  • Yes. That's a compliment. You take it and run with it. :)

When I went to my sister's pool party a few weekends ago, this 20-year-old Airman tried to talk to me. I was like, "Honey, I'm 25, married and have a toddler. But you're so darn cute for thinking I'm 21." :P

  • Geez, I get defensive when people guess to CLOSE to my age!
  • I'm the same way! I especially hate when people look at me holding Margot and ask if she's mine or say something like "you look too young to have a baby." Ya, I'm 28. Thanks, I guess. I'm sure I'll like it in another 10 years....

  • The guy at the gas station a few weeks ago asked if it was tough being a teen mom.  I didn't know what to say.

I definitely feel like people look at me like I'm not "old" enough to have Carly. I think that's why I get defensive. (Doesn't help that my wedding rings still don't fit Crying). I've always had a struggle working in higher ed, too. I hated being mistaken for a student.

  • I get defensive, too, because I feel like people are saying I act like a kid. But, really, I think it is a compliment.
