Re: should I have done this?

  • WOAH. It must be nice to have so much time on one's hands, haha. I'm thankful to get a chance to shower every day.

    That's quite the intro indeed!

  • I thought just the first paragraph was a lot.  hehe.  Poor girl.  I feel bad cause she was just trying to introduce herself, but when I started reading it my heart sank a little.
  • That was quite an intro! I only skimmed it, but it brought to mind a question that maybe some of the ladies on here can help me with.

She said she is sort of engaged because she proposed to him with a diamond watch. I get that. But THEN she says she is waiting for HER surprise proposal from him with a ring. That is the part I don't understand. Why, if she already proposed to him, is he needing to propose to her? This isn't the first time I've seen this. Can anyone explain it for me?

ps. Just for the record, I am a rebel who did the proposing to my own H. Just one proposal for us. Maybe I'm missing out on something.

  • Can I have a clicky or point to the board and post please?

  • I thought the first paragraph was the whole thing, haha. Then I saw the photos and scrolled down and saw the rest and thought, WOAH.

I didn't read the whole thing either. Sorry gblake, I'm challenged when it comes to linking anything, but it's on Pets.

  • She proposed 2 YEARS ago to him and he accepted (i.e. took that watch thankyouverymuch) and then didn't give her anything and makes her feel like they aren't even properly engaged? I feel sorry for her - she seems actually really nice, if not a little naive.

On the other hand, if she's happy with this arrangement (happy enough to buy property with him!) then whatever. Not going to ram my beliefs down her throat.

  • I can't make it clicky for you, but it's trombgirl's Hello Everyone! post on Pets.  It was about midway down page 2 when I posted this message.

I didn't read past the first paragraph.  I just skimmed it.  I don't understand the whole proposal thing.  Maybe he didn't take her proposal seriously.

Thanks for doing that.  I never can make the links clicky.

He seriously took the diamond watch though.

I think after two years and still waiting for a little reciprocation that the watch and I would do a little disappearing act.

  • Aww.  I know.  I feel bad for her.
  • Awwwww. She seems sweet, too sweet to be with her FI/ boyfriend.

  • Also, thanks for the clicky and directions on where to go.

  • I don't get why you propose to someone, they accept, and then they have to propose to you to make it stick. Unless it was a promise thingie she blew up into a proposal. And LOL on the comment: "monstrosity of an intro". I no longer feel bad about my writing novels.
