House update

Rotor-rooter fixed our sink! The guy just had to snake the line and power through the clog, luckily he didn't have to break up the basement floor and get to that pipe. Cost us $500 that we don't really have, but I feel better now that it's fixed and I can wash the 4 days' worth of dishes that have been piling up.

Re: House update

  • good to hear that the clog is finally out! Sounds like it cost a lot, but hopefully it was a one time expense on this thing.  You deserve a break from this house drama!!!

  • So glad that you got it fixed!!  That has got to be such a relief.  Having to spend $500 to fix it though... that kind of stinks.  But like you said, it's just better now that you don't have to worry about it.  Here's to hoping that things go a little smoother now for you guys!!!!

  • Congrats on the fix!  Just wanted to touch on something for encouragement's sake: In another post I believe you mentioned you haven't lived there much past 3 weeks??

Well, although our house was turn-key, there was still crap to do the first month.  We couldn't get hot water in the shower for a bit because some idiot had crossed the house water with the irrigation system (like our lawn wanted a hot shower) and the brand new, expensive dishwasher leaked, several times, and we had to deal with an incompetent repair guy twice...and buy a utensil holder because it was missing that part...yeah the little plastic thing was $50...

But after that initial "omg we're homeowners why is every weekend spent at the Home Depot??"... it got better really fast, truly.  :-)  We've been here 4 months now, and the only things to worry about are decor choices!  Things will be a lot more fun the more settled you guys get.

Hang in there, you know it's all good!

  • Thanks for the encouragement, our first 3 weeks really do sound just like yours. Here's to hoping that the *next* three weeks are not met with anything crazy happening so we can really focus on settling in.

  • I'm glad it's fixed!  It's such a pain when things break and cost money - we had the same thing happen with our car on Friday - ugh!
