anniversary dinner rec in NOLA?

Hi NOLA nesties!  My DH and I live in Mobile and will be in NO for our first anniversary in June.  We've both been to NO on several occasions separately, but never for anything romantic/celebratory.  We're staying at the Pere Marquette on Commons Street.  Any recs??

  • Some of our favorites are Restaurant August, Feelings Cafe, *** and Jenny's, Lilette's, and Crepe Nanou. I'm sure some of the other ladies on this board will have some great suggestions as well! PS- I went to high school in Mobile!!

  • Commander's Palace can be very romantic, when you make your reservation tell them its a special occasion. Dickie Brennan's steakhouse is amazing.
Restaurant August is on our list, we'll be going there next month. I can't WAIT!!!!!

  • We went to Emeril's Delmonico last night and had a phenomenal experience. I would recommend it to anyone...especially for a special occasion.

  • I would vote Muriel's or Irene's.  They are both close to Jackson Square in the French Quarter.
  • Great suggestions -- thanks ladies!!
  • If you are looking for Italian, Cafe Giovanni and there is also Antoine's and Broussands.  Those are all very good places and I highly recommend them.
  • Bella Luna wa pretty nice when we went to it--so was the Royal Cafe.  Having been removed from my fair city since cousin Katrina rolled through, I don't know their state of reopen.

MilLa opened last November in the Pere Marquette, and we have had two of the best meals ever in Nola there.  I also really liked the atmosphere-- we sat in this tiny booth with dim lighting and it was very romantic.  Restaurant August would also be a good choice.
