Day date ideas?

My husband has been traveling a bunch for work so he is taking off Friday to have a day long date with me!  He asked me to come up with some fun ideas so I figured I would ask you guys if you have any daytime date ideas that have been fun!

Here's what I have so far:

-Dallas Museum of Art or The Science Place (maybe too much like a field trip, but it could be fun!)

-Rock climbing (neither of us have ever done this before, but we're into fitness so he might like it!)

- Walking around West Village and maybe stopping for some gelato at Pacuigo

- Maybe renting kayaks for White Rock lake...not sure if any of them do that on Friday, but worth looking into (we would definitely go in the morning so we don't fry in that heat!)

Any other ideas you can think of?  Maybe just a fun brunch place and reading a coffee shop?   Thanks yall!

Re: Day date ideas?

  • -Check what exhibits the DMA has right now

-The Science Place has a lot of kids and it is summer, so it might be busier

-Rock Climbing is a lot of fun!

Do you like books? There is a HUGE 1/2 Price books on Northwest highway that has a little coffee shop in it. You could go there and then dinner & a movie at Northpark.

  • DH and I are celebrating our 3rd anniversary tomorrow with a day date. We are going for an early movie then lunch and the wine bar. We love just sitting and chatting while having a bottle (or two) of wine.

    Love this!

DH and I would go to our favorite little Italian place (Nonna Tata in Ft W). It's BYOB so we bring in a bottle of wine and spend all afternoon there. This reminds me ... we need to go again soon!

We've also talked about hitting some of the museums near us (in Fort Worth) and getting lunch at a little cafe nearby. We once had a date at Six Flags and it was pretty fun, but I don't think I could do it in this heat!

  • West village/Uptown could be fun like you mentioned.  Breadwinners is a delicious brunch cafe. You could ride the trolley. There is a neat movie theater, lots of shops, and gelato afterwards!

ETA: Last year, DH and I went to the DMA, and then walked around downtown through the tunnels, around the fountain building, and just having fun being silly.  If you do that check out Avante for lunch.  Great atmosphere!

Breadwinners IS delicious!  And it's cozy so it's perfect for a date.  :)
