Re: QOTD

  • I think the only current one we have left is Family Handyman.....it's probably obvious why we get that one.  :o)  I used to get Fresh Home, All You, and Better Homes and Gardens, but found that I never had time to read them so I've cut back.  We save the Handyman issues for future reference to projects and tips.
  • We get a lot since my cousin's kids all participate in this school fundraiser selling magazines.

We get Good Housekeeping, Parents, Parent's Early Years, Cooking Light, ESPN the Magazine, Real Simple, and Latina (I'm a Spanish teacher).

  • We don't purchase any magazines, but we get a few:

My parents give DH Consumer Reports and Handyman for Christmas each year

DH got a free subscription to I think two different bike magazines when we bought his bike this year.

My parents have a dental practice, so I can get any old magazines I want from them after they pull them out of the waiting room.  I always take the Rachel Ray magazine and I just had them pull out a few months worth of Parents and Family Circle to see if I like them - haven't had time to read them yet though.

  • I get All You, Health, and Weight Watchers.  I got them all through my nephews school fundraisers.  I probably won't renew any of them because most the time I don't take the time to read them.
  • I get Better Homes and Gardens and Real Simple.

  • Right now only Parenting and only because I got a really good deal on a 3-year subscription....My H gets GamePro....

  • I get Rachel Ray's Everyday magazine, and then I ordered This Old House also.  Seeing this just reminded me that I ordered this back in June and have yet to receive an issue.  We saw it in the waiting room of my eye doctor and liked it, so I thought I would try out a subscription.  I am curious about Handyman now.

  • The only magazine I get anymore is Real Simple and I barely read that.  I've been thinking of Parent magazine or something like that but....I don't think my free time situation is going to get any better.  Hmmm....

Maybe I'll look at the price and then decide.

  • I used to get weightwatchers but I didn't renew.  The only ones I read now are the ones I buy if I am flying for mindless reading.

  • We get Good Housekeeping because my mother gave it to me as a Christmas gift, I think she was trying to tell me something.  We also get Playboy, because my husband likes to read the articles :-P  I also pick up US Weekly up at the store every now and then, I use to have a subscription, but didnt renew, it was just too expensive.

  • I don't get any.  I don't have a whole lot of spare time to sit down and read but if I am going to I would much rather it be a book.
"You cannot protect yourself from sadness without protecting yourself from happiness."
  • Real Simple - it has a little of everything (easy recipes, home decorating advice, fashion, essays) - love it!

  • I get Self and Glamour.  I subscribed to Glamour a few years ago, and they're STILL sending it--not sure why, and I haven't been billed for it!  It's good mindless reading though :)  I also steal my mom's US Weekly's when I can, I'm too cheap to pay for a subscription.

  • Thriving by Focus on the Family: It's a Christian publication which I like, and it has cool ideas for things to do with your family.

Citizen by Focus on the Family:  Also a Christian publication, discusses current issues in society/politics from a Christian based perspective.  I thought DH would enjoy it.

Family Circle:  I like the recipes and the gardening articles.  I subscribed because they sent me some little free cookbook with my order.  I probably won't re-subscribe though.

Parents: I swear this subscription is never going to end.  I remember buying a year's subscription back when Emma was born, and I swear I've never renewed it.  They just keep sending me more and more and more.  I have most of them still piled up in the plastic.
