Are cheap flights to Vegas an urban legend?
Seriously! Trying to do a Vegas weekend next month. I realize a Thurs-Sun is prime travel time but DUDE! Any secret airlines/sites I'm not aware of?
Thanks.
Re: Are cheap flights to Vegas an urban legend?
I believe so. Some friends and I were just talking about this over the weekend. One of them had to go for a work thing last month and it was $500 roundtrip.
Have you tried kayak? Or cheap tickets? I always use Expedia, it's always been the cheapest for me.
We make the rockin' world go 'round.
DH has lived here since 2005 and has had to go to at least 1 bach party in Vegas every year. The cheapest he's ever flown was a little over $300, even with months of notice and frequent flier status. So, IMO, yes, a myth.
The cheapest are usually Southwest from Baltimore, if you're willing to make that trek.
Stand up for something you believe in.
A lot of the cheap tix to Vegas you hear of are on smaller airlines, out of smaller airports. They take advantage of excess capacity - and move around to fit their business model - offering good fares with limited schedules for leisure travelers. One month, they'll have cheap tix from DesMoine to Vegas. A few months later, they might have cheap tix from Flint to Orlando.

Ugh! Thanks ladies. Guess we'll just suck it up.
I recommend airfarewatchdog.com
