How's that for a title full of acronyms?
We are working on using the backpack for LA's feeds. We use the pump at daycare for 2 bolus feeds (she can handle a VERY fast rate, so it only takes 15 minutes for 250mL). Previously, they set her in a high chair...but now that she is in the "Big Girl 2yo classroom" she is going to use her "Big Girl" backpack. We have been practicing so that she is ready for school on Monday. So far, she is doing great!

Thanks for endulging my "mommy moment!"

Aww! She is darling!
Way to go LA!
And, side note, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom is one of my favorite books *ever*. It is a close second to Is your Mama a Llama?

Yay, LA!
What an adorable picture, btw
Yay LA. So proud of you.
She gets adorable everyday.
J-Will she always have to be fed by tube? I can't recall if you have spoken that this is only temporary or if it is permament. Feel free to ignore if you don't want to answer.
I don't mind answering--in fact, I appreciate your curiousity!
Honest answer, we don't know. For those of you who don't know, LA is tube fed because last October we discovered (through a barium swallow study) that she is a silent aspirator. In other words, when she ate by mouth, a small amount of the food/liquid goes into her lungs. Unlike you or I--her body doesn't consistently recognize this error (we have coughing fits--she wouldn't always). Obviously, this is dangerous and can make her very sick.
It is possible that she will outgrow the aspiration, but we really don't know. We have opted to wait until at least Oct. to have another swallow study done. I know she still aspirates on thin liquids (saliva being one) so I am almost certain that we will see little, if any, change in the study results.
Ideally, I would love to see her be able to eat like we do, but I am ok if that is not in the cards for her.

I love your positive attitude about it. Thanks for letting us know. I hope everything goes well in October but I do hope she outgrows it, but I like your attitude about it.
We should AW our kids but I can't AW mine until after she is born in about 7 1/2 or so weeks
She has a midline neurological disorder so that is most likely the culprit since eating happens on the midline of our body, but honestly, they are not sure.

Aw, she is just too cute!
I'm sorry that she has to go through this, though.
Seeing her reminds me of when my son was being fed that way for almost 2 months. He was allowed NOTHING by mouth (even water). Unfortunately for him, he was 26; I hope it is easier for the little one.
