Now it's my turn to vent

I don't know whether to cry or not. I had a babysitter (T) lined up to come this morning. Last night i talked to her and told her she could come between 9:30-10. Her mom was supposed to drop her off and i would bring her home by 1 since they were having a party and needed to be back. I didn't have any certain place i needed to go, just some errands i wanted to run without the kids. Well at 10:20 she still wasn't here so I called her house and the mom answered. She totally forgot. T was still sleeping and her mom was supposed to wake her up. I'm not mad at this situation AT ALL since I completely know that they are very busy and I had no where to actually be. They are total family friends, or more like very awesome family, and I actually started babysitting T when she was only 2 weeks old and is now 15. I've also been with their family through very hard times like T's dad passing away when she was only 2 and her brother was not even a month old. Needless to say, again, not mad at them. I'm just very upset that I wanted to get out of here without kids since my DH has been gone and it's been me and the kids for the last 5 weeks!

Then, to top it off, i get a text from DH. He's been on duty for 16+ hours (since 1735 yesterday) on a train and still has a 2+ hour van ride to Amarillo (you have to stop your train after 12 hours so a crew can relieve you and a van picks you up where you "die" and takes you to where you are supposed to end up). He even told the dispatcher that they were going to need a dog catch crew because they weren't going to make it and the dispatcher said he had it handled. WHATEVER! Now he's f-ed up DH's plans to come back to visit this weekend because of all the hours he's been on duty, needs to have a mandatory X amount of hours rest time, then back on the train to LaJunta (CO). I'm pissed. I hope he still can make it home, we miss him very much.

  • Yeah, that totally sucks.  Annoying on the first part and devastating on the second.  I really really really hope he gets to come home.

  • Hugs, that is tough!  I know you miss DH, you are doing so good!  Hope things get better soon!
