Describe your dream house.
Re: QOTD
On the beach, with great windows for the view. Great open floorplan on the first floor, with lots of french doors to let in the breeze off the ocen. Big kitchen with an island for everyone to gather.
The bottom floor would be parking and an outdoor shower/changing space for the beach.
2nd floor would be bedrooms, great master suite on the back to take in the views. A couple of fun kids rooms with jack n jill baths and some sort of bunk house look. So the kids would have play and sleep space.
Third floor would be a game room and also an office tucked into a sort of observation tower in the corner, like below.
Big wrap around porch with the back deck extending out past the overhang. Lots of seating and an outdoor kitchen and a firepit.
And while it sounds over the top, it wouldn't be as the exterior would be clean lines, cedar shingles on the sides and crisp white trim.

At this point my dream home is something that has walls, a roof, a bathroom and a kitchen, and is not in my parents house. LOL
But really my dream home is in a neighborhood with lots of kids for my future kids to play with. Has a huge master suite. Two other actual bedrooms. One room we can turn into a library(with built in bookshelves on every wall), one room that can be my craft room, a play room. A large living room with woodburning stove for the winter. Also a HUGE backyard with lots of room for gardens, play structures and plenty of room for Baxter ro run around as well. Oh and a treehouse.

You do not want this interior-design-who-is-married-to-an-architect start in on this.
I will say simply that we want a cottage style home with lots of character.
Certain features that are green and energy efficient.
LARGE kitchen with lots of counter space.
Lots of storage.
A floorplan that will work with a large family but be able to be pared down when the kids move out.
A big garden and outdoor living space.

I would love a house just like Loreli and Rory Gilmore:) It wouldn't be blue though, and I would add a bathroom downstairs, inclose the front door area to make an arctic entry and add one more room upstairs.
The house we're buying is seriously my dream home. It's perfect! I wish it was at the base of a mountain, but it's still so close to the mountains that I'd call it perfect.
Open floor plan, formal living room, loft, stone front. Huge kitchen which'll be great for socializing and has an extended counter top for kids to do homework at.
I'm a breastfeeding, baby wearing, cloth diapering, co-sleeping, anti-CIO Mommy
