30 DS...How are you feeling?

I'm pretty good this morning. Last time I did 30DS was before the wedding and I was much more sore -- and 50lbs lighter...funny. My chest is a bit sore (rowing thingys) and my quads...but I totally feel up to doing it again today.

How about everyone else?

Re: 30 DS...How are you feeling?

  • I woke up feeling a bit like death. My legs feel like they are going to fall off, but that is probably because I'm the genius who decided to walk around the mall for four hours yesterday after doing the shred and running so much this weekend.

I still plan to try doing the shred again today. It's only 20 minutes so I should be fine. It all depends on how I feel after the dentist. I'm having a crown put on so I should be good to go the rest of the day.

  • (I actually went back and re-did yesterday afternoon. Apparently there's a setting that automatically mutes her. YAY!)

I'm a little sore in spots - mostly my arms/chest from the push-ups, I have no upper body strength - but not as bad as I expected.

  • My arms are pretty sore and so are my quads.  I was impressed I even did it yesterday, since I didn't get to it until 7:30 and I was all into watching an episode of 48 Hours, but I decided to DVR the end and suck it up so I could work out before the Bachelorette finale.  I'm really glad I did it though!!  Still haven't figured out how it's going to work on Thursday when I'm traveling (may have to miss a day), but I'll make it work somehow! :)

  • Today was much harder! My shoulders were/are on fireeeeeeee! I was going to take a nap afterwards, but was motivated enough to make some Zucchini bread..lol..so that is good!

I muted the TV and put Pitbull on Pandora...much much better and went so fast.

TMI: I have yet to find a sports bra that makes it possible for jumping jacks to not be super painful while breastfeeding...I do other stuff during that time...Not really cheating I don't think.

  • Yeah.... finally back from the dentist and Jillian is just not going to happen today. After laying in those freakishly uncomfortable dentist chairs for 2.5 hours while being poked and prodded I'm even more sore than I was this morning and my face is numb.

I feel like a slacker for taking a day off on the second day, but I'd rather do that than screw up the rest of the week.

  • I did it last night. pretty late actually. It's a good thing the woman who lives below us sleeps all day and is awake all night lol

This video is a bit different. I don't know if I like it better or if it's just bc I've never done this one and I didn't know what to expect. I've done the original one 2 1/2 times already. I'm pretty sore in my lower back today and by shoulders from the chest flies. In this video the chest flies are done standing up and I think in a squat.

I'm about ready to do it again.

FYI at the beginning of this video she tells you that she recommends working out 5-6 days a week, to make SURE you have a rest day in there. That is not said on the first one and I think it bothered a lot of people. I had it in my head that "30 day shred" meant you did it EVERY day. From everyone's comments on here I have the feeling you think that too. But you don't. I guess it's more of a month of working out still with taking a break. That made me feel a lot better.

The work outs are very similar. Some of them are exact. and I think the warm up and down are a tad longer which was one of my complaints. I always had to stretch longer after.

Maria... I always had quite the time with sports bra... so I have a super tight one AND I wear a really tight workout shirt over it with an extra shelf (like those tank tops with the built in bras... sometimes I wear a regular bra and a sports bra AND a tight bra tank... the less movement up there, the better... then again I have absolutely NO idea with the breastfeeding if it'd remotely work... but thought I'd put it out there. Good work! :)

  • Just did day two. It's hard and I'm sore.

Maria, lol if my husband looked at my Google search history he might worry. I googled, "working out/jumping sports bra, breast feeding" there is a site that I'll copy below that a lot of women commented on what they do/use. One of them was Berlei Shock Absorber bras. I only have "slightly" bigger boobs when I'm not working out and the rest of me is getting big (I HATE that) so I don't know what your going through but I hope this helps.

  • I didn't do Day 1 yesterday.  My excuse is that it is just so dang hot and I already exercised that morning.

Today I exercised in the morning also and it's even hotter but I figured I couldn't use the same excuse 2 days in a row.

I've never watched Biggest Loser so I didn't really know what to expect.  I don't mind Jillian yet.

Pros:  I think she was really clear with how to do the exercises and hints on how to maintain correct form.I liked that the exercises were basic ones I knew.  I hate fancy made up ones that take 2-3 times through to figure out!

Cons:  She repeats herself too much- especially the corny phrases.  On the DVD case was an ad for another video and it had the phrase "sick" as in your body is going to be sick.  I hate trendy language like that and she was full of it.

I was really sweating but I'm not sure how much is just the heat and how much is the workout.
