the tower club - tysons

anyone ever been there ?  dh and I are going to meet his boss and wife there for dinner next weekend.

I hardly venture to Tysons -- is it a fancy pancy place ?   I saw on the website no jeans/flip flops/ripped attire and men are prefered to wear jackets --

so has anyone been there ? or even heard of it ?

Re: the tower club - tysons

  • We had our reception there, my parents are members. I would say its business casual, jackets are preferred for men. Food is great, its really a lovely place you'll enjoy yourself. Its on the top of the "shopping bag" building, the one that looks like it has handles right near Tysons mall.
  • DH and I used to go there when we were in highschool.  His mom's company had an account there, so we would go for anniversarys and holidays - its probably been 10 years since I was there last.  If I were to go again, I would wear a cocktail dress and heels.  Maybe its the 18 year old in me, but I remember being in complete awe, thinking it was the fanciest place I'd ever been!  One valentines day, they cut every piece of lettuce in my salad into the shape of a heart.

And the first visit was the most mortifying experience of my life - I cried in the bathroom.  I was so overwhelmed by the silverware, the fact that there weren't prices on the menu to pick something cheap, the sorbet palate cleanser (thought it was dessert!) and the warm towels to wipe your hands.  Very overwhelming for a 16 year old :)
