  • The baby wouldn't even know where the F they were.  I know nothing about Princetown.  Is it just a total club area?

I've never been there but it's known for being a small-town place with a big gay community. I'm sure there are places in P-town you wouldn't want to take a child, but you could say that of any city. And I couldn't help suggesting an alternative travel destination for the "I'm not anti-gay but..." poster :)
  • lol at Bible blinders and marista's comment.  Cilley should be shanked.

  • I saw that last night. I had a definite "Wait, wha??" moment.

Should I direct that chick to my friend's parents erotic chocolate shop in P'town so they can get an exploding chocolate penis pop for her kid? Gosh, they're delicious.

  • That had to be one of the funniest things I have read on the Nest, it even had DH laughing.

  • I want to go there now, just so I can report back to Cilley about all the gays :P

  • Gayz aside, doesn't Provincetown take a ridiculously long time to get to via car? Why would you take a baby on a road trip? That sounds like less fun than not drinking for nine months.
  • We took the girls on a road trip from FL to TX and it wasn't bad at all. It's better than flying with a baby, and many of us have lots of experience with that. You don't annoy 100 other people when the baby cries, you can take breaks, no ear popping, no TSA?.

And yeah, that woman is a real treasure.

I would pick a road trip with an almost 1 year old over a plane ride any day.

In Publius' book, an hour or two on a plane with a baby > a week cooped up in the car with the same baby.  Maybe the fact that I have no desire to spend a week in a car with a kid, even if it's my own, means I shouldn't procreate.

  • I'm with you there on an hour or two on a plane > a week in the car.  Sometimes it's just easier to be able to stop the car and get out.  I'd just like to have my own private plane.  Then everyone would be happy!
  • hahahaa! love the bible blinders and the big gay baby! I also adore the fact that any time someone is going to say something racist, homophobic, etc they start it with 'im not racist/homophobic/... BUT and then finish it up with something totally racist or homophobic. It is like that other thread where starting something with 'NO OFFENSE, BUT' is supposed to negate all things offensive that follow the 'but'
  • Oh yes, she reminds me of the sort of people whose comments end up here: http://www.notracistbut.com/.
  • What a moron.
  • That makes me want to post an opposite question, "My sister and her wife want to take a vacation, but she's worried about making her kids* uncomfortable. Where can they go that there aren't a lot of straight people?"

*Okay, they're dogs. But furbabies are kids too.

Or: WARNING! I took my kids to (insert any city here) and I really wish I hadn't. I'm so appalled that they had to witness heterosexual people doing heterosexual things at every turn. My wife and I couldn't take two steps without being slapped in the face with heterosexuality! I'm not heterophobic, but EW! GROSS! My KIDS should not have to see this. They're KIDS!

  • I have taken both my kids to P-Town multiple times. The gays love my kids and my kids love the gays. Especially the drag queens who hand out leaflets to their shows! P-Town has a charm all of it's own lol People are so dumb on here sometimes.

  • My fav: Honestly OP, I'd skip P-Town entirely you can hardly turn around without someone hosing you with the gay or trying to put their gay penis in you.

I swear I peed my pants laughing.

I'm enbarassed at how many of those are Australian. V sad.

  • Ok, so I'm way late to the party and didn't realize you all had covered this (a recently renamed (sorry, I forget the new name) pointed this thread out AFTER my freak out on Travel and whiny sidebar here (growl).

If you are madly interested in my feelings (and haven't guessed) see either thread.

I'd only add--- the drive's not bad at all.  From Hyannis it's like an hour (not factoring in for summer traffic)!

It's been six years since I had said chocolate, so I wonder if they're still doing them. Either way, here's their website: The Purple Feather.
